The UK Cyber Week Expo and Conference, held between 17–18 April 24 at the Olympia in London, provides a platform for industry leaders, practitioners, and enthusiasts to converge and explore the cutting-edge trends and challenges shaping the current cyber security landscape.
The DCR Partners Team recently attended the event – meeting with customers, speaking with partners and potential customers and heard firsthand of new innovations and industry challenges.

Throughout the conference, distinguished speakers covered a wide spectrum of topics that are shaping the cyber security landscape. Discussions ranged from the escalating sophistication of cyber threats, such as ransomware and social engineering, to the pivotal role of AI in strengthening defence strategies.
Some of the discussions that we found really insightful included:
Stephanie Itimi, CEO at SEIDEA delivered a talk on ‘Technical Security Risk in the Era of Deepfakes and Generative AI’. This session focused on the security risks associated with deepfakes and generative AI, emphasising the impact on individuals, businesses and society. The key takeaways were:
- Deepfakes and generative AI pose significant security risks, capable of spreading misinformation and committing fraud.
- Generative AI offers potential in cyber defence, such as detecting deepfakes and generating decoy data, but also poses risk when used for offensive purposes like creating targeting social engineering attacks.
- Business and individuals must take these threats seriously and adopt recommended practices and technologies to protect against the vulnerabilities introduced by deepfakes and generative AI.
Katie Ralph, Director, Solutions Engineering at SonicWall delivered a talk on ‘Building Cyber Resilience: Prioritisation in a Rapidly Shifting Threat Landscape’. During this session we discussed:
- Understanding the shifting nature of cyber threats and the importance of staying adaptive.
- Identifying priority areas for investment based on current threat trends and organisational vulnerabilities.
- Implementing a risk-based approach to budget allocation, focusing resources where they are most needed.
