We’re excited to introduce Charlotte, who joined DCR in January as a Senior Manager specialising in governance, risk, and compliance, with a focus on Internal Audit. From day one, Charlotte has brought energy, expertise, and a collaborative spirit to the team - and it’s no surprise she has already made a big impact.
We sat down for a quick chat to hear about her journey with DCR so far.
Tell us a bit about you and your role - what do you do here, and what brought you to the company?
I joined the team in January this year as a Senior Manager specialising in all things governance, risk and compliance, with a focus on Internal Audit.
I was drawn to DCR because of the opportunities for me to develop professionally and build new relationships, and because of the people I met through the recruitment process.
What was your first impression of the company, and has it changed over time?
My first impression was a great group of people who are really knowledgeable in their areas and who focus on quality and team. It's been exactly that!
How would you describe the company culture to someone thinking of joining?
Our culture is really positive - everyone listens to each other and gets opportunities to grow. I've felt really valued from day 1 and it's hard to believe I'm only a few months in - I've been able to get involved in lots of different areas and I feel like I've been here much longer.
What do you enjoy most about your day-to-day work or team?
I enjoy the variety in the work I'm doing, which ranges between supporting clients, meeting new people and developing internal processes. I also hugely appreciate the care from my colleagues in making sure we all have a true work life balance.
Can you share a moment where you felt especially proud to be part of the company?
We exhibited at the recent Building Societies Annual Conference in Birmingham and it was brilliant to be part of the event and see my colleagues in their element.
What's one value or principle you see lived out regularly at DCR?
One of our values is 'team first' and it's embedded in how we work. Our team is spread across the country but we all make the effort to get together once a month for a strategy day, and we regularly check in to see how we can support each other.
What kind of person do you think thrives in DCR?
Someone who wants to work on a variety of projects, both for our clients and internally, and who really values people and collaboration.
If someone asked you why they should come work here, what would you say?
We're a tight knit, supportive team in a growing business and it's a really exciting time to join us.
