We were proud to exhibit at the Building Societies Annual Conference 2025 last week, hosted by the Building Societies Association at the ICC Birmingham. This year’s event was a landmark occasion, celebrating 250 years since the founding of the world’s first building society - Ketley’s, right in the heart of Birmingham.

Throughout the two-day event, we had the pleasure of connecting with leaders from building societies, banks, insurers, regulators, and service providers. The conference was a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas, challenge thinking, and reinforce the sector’s commitment to purpose-driven finance. We’re grateful to the BSA for organising such a timely and forward-looking event, and to everyone who took the time to speak with us.

Our Managing Director, Raj Kohli, took to the stage with a bold and thought-provoking message:
Resilience isn’t just about compliance – it’s a competitive advantage.

He challenged delegates to reframe their thinking around resilience with three key questions:

➡️ Is your resilience strategy positioned as a market differentiator or just a regulatory necessity?
➡️ When disruption hits, will your members experience confidence or chaos?
➡️ Is resilience embedded in your growth strategy or still buried in your risk register?

It was a call to action for the mutual sector to see resilience not just as a tick-box exercise, but as a strategic asset in a rapidly evolving landscape.

Another standout moment was the keynote from innovation strategist, Shawn Kanungo. In his dynamic session, Reimagine the Future, he explored the impact of generative AI, the power of infinite leverage, and why bold, creative thinking is no longer optional - it's essential.

Kanungo challenged the audience to embrace disruption and differentiate through imagination, authenticity, and courage. It was an inspiring call to action that left a lasting impression.

If we didn’t get a chance to connect during the event, we’d still love to hear from you. Whether you're rethinking your resilience strategy, exploring transformation opportunities, or just want to exchange ideas - get in touch. We’re here to help you maximise business objectives and commercial goals balanced with effective risk management.
